Class Description

At CONNECT, we believe that connection to the self serves as an important foundation for connecting with life, each other, and the land we gather on. Yin Yoga is one of the key ways we can return to the self to embody slowness and receptivity. In Yin Yoga, postures are held longer than traditional yoga classes - up to five minutes or more - in order to target deep connective tissues. This type of practice helps release stuck energy that can increase your range of motion as well as helping you wind down from a stressful day. Unlike other styles of yoga, there is no movement between poses; instead, breath work and mindfulness help create a relaxing atmosphere where the mind and body can come together in harmony. Your instructor, Liberty Gonzalez, MA, incorporates seasonal wisdom and timely themes to make each session a relevant transformative experience. By incorporating both yin and yang based practices into one's regular practice, you can experience a balanced and holistic way of being.
