About the event
This Insight meditation group is for those seeking to explore and engage with the liberatory principles of Buddhist teachings and philosophy.
You Can Sit With Us: STL Queer Sangha engages the concept of Spiritual Solidarity, or kalyana mitta, as author Kate Johnson, who is a multiracial meditation teacher, artist, and activist writes about in her book “Radical Friendship”:
“Kalyana mitta is the name for the quality of relationships between members of a community who are collectively committed to liberation.”
Together through Spiritual Solidarity we cultivate:
- Refuge in our own innate Divinity & capacity for liberation.
- Refuge in praxis, our own direct experience making the practices alive through active engagement.
- Refuge in community solidarity, taking interdependence from transactional to reciprocal.
Every 2nd Tuesday of the month 7-8:30pm. Facilitated by Certified Meditation Teacher and queer Dharma practitioner, Deanna Sophia Danger.
